MARK GARDNER of Cascade, Colorado and REX RIDEOUT of Conifer, Colorado have been performing the historic music of the American West for over 25 years. They approach “cowboy” music as historians and musicologists, consulting rare diaries and journals, early sheet music, vintage recordings, and oral sources. In their performances and recordings they feature vintage instruments and use historic playing styles. Gardner and Rideout have brought their unique, educational program to audiences all over the west, from Fort Union on the Missouri to Santa Fe’s Palace of the Governors. Last year the duo was recognized by True West magazine as the “Best Musical Tour of the West of 2009.”
LIZ MASTERSON is the Songbird of the Sage, and her most recent recording, Roads to Colorado, received the Will Rogers’ Award for Best Western Album of 2009. A Denver native, she yodeled on the Discovery Channel’s Myth Busters Show, and is a Longmont favorite! Liz and Susan have combined their strengths and wit to bring new life to the old-time country duets of 1930’s .
SUSAN DAILEY adds artful harmonies and is a whiz on the mandolin. She is at the heart of the Fort Collins acoustic music scene, and plays in a variety of ensembles. This fun new duo will get your toes tappin’ and your spurs a jinglin’ If you like the Blue Sky Boys and the Girls of the Golden West, you’ll love Liz Masterson and Susan Dailey!
BRAD & KATHY FITCH of Estes Park, CO specialize in original acoustic folk, family and western music. They are know for their melodic folk music and songs written about the places they have traveled. They perform John Denver tribute concerts and perform their songs about their love of the land, playing their songs of life on the prairie, sea songs or John Denver ballads. Kathy and Brad are sure to leave you with your foot tapping and a smile on our face.
